Last month I joined Winchester Art Club and attended my first art demonstration with them. Hampshire based artist Marieta Sotirova painted a stunning marine landscape in oil called First Light and told us all about her journey as an artist, studying in her birth country of Bulgaria, going on to become an architect, and then giving that all up to return to her passion for painting.
I'm looking forward to the next demonstration which is with Cate Field who is going to show us techniques of using acrylic paint for abstract expressions. The Club also holds Spring and Autumn Exhibitions at Winchester Hospital and an Annual Exhibition at The ARC - running this year from 19th September to 10th November 2024.
